Our Team
Peckwas Prep stands apart because we are a family owned school and business. Our school is owned and operated by the Peckwas sisters, Kim, Dawn and Amanda, all of whom hold Master's Degrees in Education. We are joined by a long time team of dedicated professionals, and we boast a combined 125 years of teaching expertise. We invite you to be a part of our family here at Peckwas Prep.
Our History
Our school was founded in 1996 by the Peckwas family, after having operated several quality child care centers since 1974. The Academy was founded on those same high standards of excellence, and from the beginning, we have sought to create a challenging curriculum that allows each child to draw on his or her strengths and to learn in a hands on and meaningful way. Our small class sizes and commitment to community make our school a truly unique and special environment.
Our Mission
Our curriculum is designed with the needs of individual students in mind, and with the goal of creating a lifelong love of learning through active engagement. Special attention is paid to creating a seamless program from preschool through 8th grade, which helps our students transition successfully from one level to the next. It is our hope that students leave us with all the skills they need to succeed in high school and beyond, and that they leave our halls with a love of learning, rooted here, that will last a lifetime.
